Section 2:

Check your Email

Email that appears on the webmail server is mail that has not yet been downloaded into your mail client. The exceptions to this rule are:

  • You have your mail client configured to leave copies of messages on your server.
  • You use an IMAP account instead of a POP account.

Check your messages:

  1. Log in to your webmail box by following the steps outlined in Section 1 above.
  2. Click on the Mail tab on the left side of the toolbar at the top of the screen. (see Figure 1b)
  3. Your messages will be shown in the main window view in the message list. (see Figure 2b)
  4. You can open a message by clicking on either the From name, or the Subject line.

Message List

Manage your Spam mailbox:

  1. Click on the Spam folder in your folder list on the lower-left hand pane to view the messages trapped there. (see Figure 3b)
  2. You can sort through these messages one by one, or simply empty the entire folder at once by clicking on the (empty) link next to the folder in the list.

Check new messages that have arrived since you first logged in:

  1. Click on the Check Mail button in the mail menu on the upper-left side of your window. (see Figure 1e in Section 5)

Section 3:

Mass email operations

If you wish to mark a number of messages as Spam / Read / Unread / etc all at once you may use the following steps:

  1. Place a check mark next to each email you want to perform the action to.
  2. Once you have the appropriate messages selected, choose the action you wish to perform from the list in the drop-down box that says "perform this action..." in it. (see Figure 1c)

If you wish to move items from the Inbox into a seperate folder en masse you may use the following steps. Items outside of the Inbox are ignored by external mail clients. If you want these messages to be downloaded into (ie. Outlook) then they must remain in the Inbox folder.

  1. Place a check mark next to each email you want to move.
  2. Select the folder to place them into by choosing it from the drop-down box that says "Move Selected to ..." in it. (see Figure 1c)

For either of these operations you can select all the messages on the current page by placing a check mark in the All checkbox at the botttom. (see Figure 1c)

Creating New Messages and Folders

These steps are self-explanatory so we will not go into step-by-step details here. Instead we will discuss the options under the Menu pane. You will find this pane on the left side of your screen when you are in the Mail tab.
