Basic Outbound Faxing

This is a completely free service provided by the Kotter Group for the convenience of our hosted ASP terminal service users. Please follow the steps outlined in this article to configure your fax printer for use. This will need to be done while logged in to the server.

Log in to your Kotter desktop, Click the Start button and then select Printers and Faxes.

On the left side of your screen you will see a menu towards the top, inside that menu will be an option for Add a Printer under Printer Tasks. Select this option.

The Add Printer Wizard will appear. Click Next on the first screen. On the second screen it will default to "A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer". Leave this setting and simply click Next again here.

On the third screen, move the selection to the second option, "Connect to this printer (or to browse...)" and in the Name field enter two backslashes [ \\ ] followed by "dc2\Kotter Fax". (as shown in the figure below) And then click Next.

On the fourth screen leave the selection set to No - you do not want to use this as your default printer - and click Next. Then on the fifth and final screen click on the Finish button to complete the setup.

You should now see a new printer in your list called "Kotter Fax on dc2". Any time you need to send a fax to someone, simply print the document to this printer and it will launch the Fax Wizard.
